The Content Blockchain Project is initiating an open and decentralized blockchain ecosystem that is operated and owned by the industry itself.
Our goal is to create a decentralized, global, digital infrastructure for the creative community to discover, register, navigate, offer, sell and license digital media content and otherwise exchange value over the network.
The project addresses authors, photographers, journalists, musicians, artists, bloggers, publishers, content distributors, and all kinds of media companies, startups and creatives around the globe.

The Content Blockchain Project is run as an open, non-profit initiative. The Content Blockchain Network is open for anyone to create and develop new and innovative applications and tools that can connect to the distributed ledger.
The initiative provides the foundational tools and the infrastructure for a new content and media ecosystem based on blockchain technology. These include chain-agnostic standards for content identification (ISCC), smart licenses and transaction models.
The Content Blockchain will launch as an open source blockchain network tailored to the specific needs of the wider content and media ecosystem. It supports data streams, native tokens and on-chain governance.
The Content Blockchain is a network that is run for the industry by the industry.
Media companies are encouraged to support the network by running their own node.
A node can be used to validate transactions on the blockchain or to connect to the network in other ways.
The ISCC (International Standard Content Code) is a proposal for an open and generic identifier designed for digital media content.
The identifier is generated from the content itself. It supports all types of media (text, image, audio, video).
Smart Licenses are machine readable license terms, inseparably connected to the offered content.
Smart License Templates can serve any individual business case and will simplify license transactions and sales on the blockchain.
